GWB is an application for AutoCAD.
It serves to identify wooden rectangular beams from 3D AUTOCAD, DWG or DXF drawings. Beams can be cut perpendicularly or non perpendicularly to the ends. DWG or DXF files can be created directly in AutoCAD, or they can come from programs that can generate wood structures or from other materials. In fact, all parts with a rectangular section of a 3D model of a building are identified. The result of the program is a drawing with the identified parts (numbered, dimensioned and positioned from an origin) and a file of quantities that can be loaded into EXCEL.

It is a very useful tool for designers of structures of wooden, concrete and metal, that prepare the drawings resulting from specialized programs, for printing and establishing the lists of quantities.

Identifies wooden beams from DWG files, which are created directly in AutoCAD, or they come from 3D CAD software that generates wood, concrete or metallic structures. The result is a drawing of the identified parallelepiped pieces and a file of quantities.

You can process hundreds of thousands of points or triangles, even on less powerful PCs.
Through its own CAD system (called RCAD), specialized for 3D and for a large number of entities, you can do:
-load and draw a file of points having the format:  Number X Y Z Code; the drawing is made by POINT,3DPOLY,SPLINE or BLOCK entities, according to a modifiable library of codes,
-edit interactively the XYZ files of points; you can modify the coordinates, the code and the position (in 3DPOLY or SPLINE),
-triangulate the points on a convex hull or between an external contour and possibly more interior contours,
-contour lines and color-filled contour map,
-cross sections and longitudinal profile,
-the projection of several PLine entities over a triangulation
-simulation of rainwater runoff; identifies the watershed, the direction of the flow, the flooded areas, the speed and level of the water,
-the conversion of a triangulation to a regular grid of points,
-the conversion of the existing isolines resulting from maps in points and then in a triangulation,
-represent the geological_stratification resulting from drilling,
-calculate 3D area, center of gravity and the volume between 2 triangulations,

-interpolate a set of 3DFACE, using quartic triangular patches
-transform a drawing containing entities as PLine, Line, Block and Text, in XYZ points file,
-represent 4D points cloud,
-import and export LandXML.
RCAD CAD system, distributed together with RTOPO, provides  OpenGL real-time orbit, pan,zoom, shading, lighting and motion path animation. RCAD is similar with other popular CAD systems and can load and save DXF files. It has entries in the command text area, graphics area, menus and toolbars and can run scripts.

You can do triangulation, isolines, color-filled contour maps, sections, intersections, volume, editing XYZ point files, drawing 4D point cloud files and simulation of rainwater runoff.

You can thus identify the watershed, the direction and meaning of the water flow, the flooded areas, the speed and level of the water. You can set: the amounts of precipitation and infiltration into the soil in m/(sec*m2), the roughness of the land, the calculation time increment, the duration of the precipitation, the total duration >= the duration of the precipitation and drawing the water level at every moment.

The culvert consists of one or more rectangular frame pieces or pipes, 2 wings or a wing and a fall chamber. Rectangular pieces can be placed in steps to reduce the slope of the drain. The wings and the fall chamber can be at 90 degrees or at a different angle from the culvert axis. The walls of a wing can have different sizes and angles. The sole of the wing can be horizontal or inclined. The culvert rests on a foundation, and in the drainage area there is a concrete protection material.
The drawings are dimensioned automatically.
You will automatically get the execution drawings, quantity lists and files with the new input data. You will be able to create in time, a database with different examples of culverts.

Input data: a DWG file with the line of flow of the culvert in cross section to the road and the points in the DWG between which the rectangular frames or pipes are placed.

Output data: drawings containing 3D view, plan view, longitudinal section and cross sections of the culvert and a table with the volumes and materials.

New commands:
-VOL calculates the volume of filling and digging,
-LSC multiplies with a number the scale of 'Linetype' for the selected entities,
-HSC multiplies with a number the scale for the selected HATCHs,
-PSC adjusts the scale for LINEs with 'Linetype'=POARTA*' for the selected LINEs,
-KMP writes the mileage in the BLOCKs inserted on a POLYLINE,
-YTE changes the Y texts of some points, relative to an origin point,
-XTE changes the X text of some points, relative to X=0 of the current UCS,
-PTE inserts elevation and slope with triangle on a POLYLINE,
-P3D creates 3D axis and roadside, starting from 2D,
-DTH creates hatch styles from a DWG.

The new VOL command calculates the filling and digging volumes between the project and the land surfaces. The surfaces must be 3DFACE or 3DMESH entities (created with variable MESHTYPE set to 0), having different colors between project and land.
The volumes will be calculated by the intersection with vertical lines of the two surfaces.
First, the “Volume increment”, which represents the step on X and Y of vertical lines, will be introduced.
You will then select the set of project entities. The user will select an entity, all entities with its color being automatically selected. Then another entity, of another color, can be selected. The selection is completed by pressing ENTER.
The set of land entities will then be selected, in a manner similar to the project selection.
The filling and digging volumes as well as the maximum filling and digging heights will be calculated and displayed. The vertical lines between the surfaces are also drawn.

Cut and fill volume command

Polyline, Arc, Circle and Spline entities will be interpreted. First, the program will explode the existing DWG blocks and merge the Line entities into Polylines. Then the user will enter a distance (“Segment length”) which represents the length of the segments by which the Arc, Circle and Spline entities are approximated, as well as the arcs and inclined segments of the Polylines.
Then you will select the entities from which you want to create a hatch style. The selected entities are automatically deleted and replaced with Polyline entities.
The DTH command also has this important utility (nonexistent in AutoCAD), to divide Polyline, Arc, Circle and Spline entities into equal segments.
A new hatch style will be automatically created in a PAT extension file.

The new PTE command enters the Y elevation and the slope of the segments between the vertices of a selected POLYLINE or LWPOLYLINE.
It will indicate:
– the scale on X and Y of the drawing,
– a point and a text relative to which will be further calculated the Y coordinate of the POLYLINE,
– the number of decimal places of the Y and slope,
– position of the triangles, above or below the POLYLINE,
– POLYLINE or LWPOLYLINE entities will be repeatedly selected.
At the POLYLINE vertices a triangle with its Y value will be inserted, and the slope and the flow direction will be entered between the vertices.
